Did You Know?

Highly interested in homoerotic themes, David Hockney looked to the poetry of Walt Whitman for a lot of his inspiration. His work “The Third Love Painting” includes the concluding lines of Whitman's "When I Heard at the Close of Day”. Hockney’s painting “We Two Boys Together Clinging” is named after a Whitman poem.
