  • Exit Through the Gift Shop
    Exit Through the Gift Shop
When British stencil artist Banksy traveled to Los Angeles to work, he came across obscure French filmmaker Thierry Guetta and his badly organized collection of videotapes involving the activities of graffiti artists. Inspired, Banksy assembled them with new footage to create this talked-about documentary, and the result is a mind-boggling and odd film (so strange as to be thought a hoax by some) about outsider artists and the definition of art itself.

A Matter of Time

Rob Niosi (seated) and his Time Machine Sculpture - 2016 (click photo for larger image)Over twelve years ago, filmmaker and stop-motion animator Rob Niosi began “meticulously recreating a full-scale replica of the time machine used in the eponymous sci-fi film starring Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimieux and based on the novel by H.G. Wells.” (Westchester Magazine)

The subject of the recently released feature length documentary — “How to Build a Time Machine” — Rob will be presenting a program on the development and evolution of his amazing life size sculpture, inspired by the classic 1960 film. Join us at the OAC Steamer Firehouse Gallery on Sunday, January 29th, from 2—3:30 PM, to learn all about this extraordinary work of art that took over twelve years to complete!

The gallery is located at 117 Main Street - 2nd Floor - Ossining, NY. The requested donation is $5. All proceeds go to help support OAC’s mission.

The Ossining Arts Council (OAC), are a group of volunteers whose mission is:

  • To promote and showcase the talent of all artists, whether professional or amateur
  • To unite diverse talent across other arts-based organizations through collaborative programs
  • To build awareness and inspire passion for the arts within our community

In adopting this mission, we hope to demonstrate that art is an important, vital and affirming force - both in the life of a community and in the life of each individual it touches.
