William Morris’s Birthplace Reopens
A Museum in east London celebrating the legacy of William Morris has recently reopened.
British artist William Morris (1834-1896) was a leader and champion of the English Arts and Crafts movement, as well as an artist, writer, and libertarian socialist.
“Unless people care about carrying on their business without making the world hideous, how can they care about Art?”
Morris firmly believed in the beauty of pride of the handmade object--which he believed encompassed the entirely of the manmade world.
