  • Exit Through the Gift Shop
    Exit Through the Gift Shop
When British stencil artist Banksy traveled to Los Angeles to work, he came across obscure French filmmaker Thierry Guetta and his badly organized collection of videotapes involving the activities of graffiti artists. Inspired, Banksy assembled them with new footage to create this talked-about documentary, and the result is a mind-boggling and odd film (so strange as to be thought a hoax by some) about outsider artists and the definition of art itself.

When Was the Last Time You Folded a Piece of Paper?

Simon Schubert Lets His Fingers Do the Working....

Portrait of Samuel Beckett (click photo for larger image)Simon Schubert (b. 1976) is an artist based in Cologne, Germany, where he was born. From 1997 to 2004, Schubert trained in sculpture at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Inspired by Surrealism as well as by Samuel Beckett, Schubert employs materials ranging from the simple to the sophisticated. Some of his most remarkable works have been created by simply folding white paper--from which three dimensional images emerge from two-dimensional surfaces. Click here to get some further insight into Schubert’s folded creations--but there are a number of blogs and websites that note his work. Google him to learn more!   And...the next time you perform a simple task--think about how you might turn it into an art form!
